I'm sorry to hear y'all are having issues with your Elite Series 2 controller.
Are you having this issue on PC or an Xbox panel?

THis is not a isolated instance. My elite 2 paddles also stopped working after a firmware update. I am on PC with Windows 11, don't accept an xbox to revert the firmware. What must we practise?

I think I'm having the same issue, but since I but got my Elite 2 controller today I can't exist sure. Could you check something for me?
Get into Control Console -> Devices and Printers, then find your elite controller (listed as "Xbox Wireless Controller" I retrieve) correct click and select "Game Controller Settings". From there yous should see a readout of all of your controller inputs. Mine lists sixteen total buttons, simply the paddle buttons will non activate. If I remap the paddles to other buttons within the XBox Accessories app and then I can emulate a different button with the paddles, for instance Ten lights up the "3" button, and then does the paddle... but the paddle button never illuminates.
The paddles seem to produce NO UNIQUE INPUT OF THEIR OWN, they can only emulate other buttons, fifty-fifty though the figurer knows the paddle buttons exist.
From all the searching I've washed, what I've gathered is that the "Default" profile (which y'all can activate by property the profile selector for a few seconds) used to permit the paddles to work independently, just something within the last few months broke that. For instance Steam's Big Picture controller configuration options used to allow for remapping the paddles, but now they practice non.
TLDR: Microsoft seems to have recently broke something in and update to the Xbox Elite controller, which is at present preventing the paddle buttons from sending their unique button input while using the default profile. They can at present only emulate some other controller button, or ship no input at all.

Just chiming in say that I've had the same outcome, seems to have started a few months agone . The Xbox accessories app won't even pick up a controller input for the paddles on the default profile .

To exist more than specific, this problem started with Firmware update 5.13 . I was willing to pay the premium toll for this controller so I could map the paddles to individual button actions not to merely emulate existing buttons.
To add to the pain, I do non own an Xbox console then I can not revert the firmware to 5.xi at least on a PC. I can't find any way on PC to practise this.
Microsoft Please fix this. I was ever willing to buy and replace the controller as long every bit the functionality was however in that location. Now, if something happens to this controller I volition not purchase another Elite for my PC gaming needs.
So basically if No Ready for firmware v.xiii then this will be my last Elite controller. I hope this is non adieu Microsoft (dramatic music accompanied by dramatic argument).

Csfjr, I'k in the same boat, I bought the elite controller because I needed a PC controller with programmable paddles, and now it doesn't even work
Waste of money and I won't be buying any more Microsoft accessories. Terrible product support, untested buggy updates, and they don't even allow users curl back the firmware. Absolutely embarrassing incompetence from a company like MS
Lesson learned
Oh and it doesn't even function when connected via Bluetooth considering information technology appears equally a standard Xbox one controller instead of an Elite controller. I needed a wireless dongle to fifty-fifty get information technology to piece of work in the starting time place. Let that simmer... I needed to pay extra for a wireless dongle for A BLUETOOTH ENABLED CONTROLLER. But that's another topic.

These steps don't help if the firmware version is five.eleven or 5.xiii.
Offset question you lot should ask someone reporting this event is what Firmware version are y'all running.
With 5.11 Bluetooth stopped working but Paddles access withal working to customize on PC. It will only work while using USB cable is used. This version still gives access to the paddles to assign other deportment with a plan like reWASD.
With 5.13 Bluetooth AND customized Paddles admission stopped working on PC.

Same consequence here, later on various updates to Windows 11.
Firstly, the device was before recognised as "xbox elite series 2" I believe, but is now recognised as a generic xbox wireless controller.
Secondly, the paddles on the dorsum are now disabled if no profile is selected. However, if a profile is selected, the paddles on the back are recognised every bit the A, B, Ten and Y buttons.
Fingers crossed MS will update this soon! Great controller otherwise. I would similar to be able to use the paddles though.
